| Binkster and I cannot believe it's already November. Sheesh. Where did the year go?
I just put the finishing touches on my first solo thriller, UNSEEN, which will be on the stands April, 2009. UNSEEN continues the saga of characters associated with The Colony, the secretive cult which is introduced in the book I wrote with my sister, Lisa Jackson, WICKED GAME coming out February 2009. Enjoy! Nancy Visit

| Fall lingers here in Virginia, and how I would love to linger with it, taking long walks and indulge in the season of hot cider and warm sweaters. Dream on, in mere moments, the holiday season will be rushing headlong toward all of us. Lke a runaway locomotive. Just like last year. I can hardly wait.
These days, I have to savor the season during my two-mile walk to the Metro station on my way to work. It's also one of the times I think about my characters, and sometimes I let them suffer the way I have. Take Lacey Smithsonian, the main character in my Crime of Fashion mysteries. In RAIDERS OF THE LOST CORSET, in the midst of hunting for a fabled jewel-filled corset, Lacey tackles an incredibly complex dessert for Thanksgiving to impress her boyfriend's mother: Southern Living's Pecan Pie Cake. If you have ever deposited cake batter on the ceiling of your kitchen, I think you'll empathize.
RAIDERS is set during November and is the fourth book in my series. In ARMED AND GLAMOROUS, my latest book, I let Lacey go to private eye school. At present I am thinking of other fun things to research so my characters can do them louder, faster, and funnier. Happy Thanksgiving. Visit

| It's been a busy, busy summer -- multiple writer's conferences, lots of out of town company, a conference for hubby's work, and even a tiny vacation. I'm telling myself that's why it flew by so quickly -- as opposed to that old addage that the older you get the faster time goes.
PITCH BLACK was released in June and is making me a very proud momma. I wonder if I should get one of those bumper stickers, "My child is a well-received book". Oh, they don't have those, you say? Mabye I'll invent them. After all, our books are our children. It seems only fair that they get the same treatment as an honor student at X elementary, or a cheerleader at Y Academy. (You can tell my own children are grown, so I'm grabbing onto what I can!)
I'm afraid the fall will pass by as quickly as summer. Before you know it, it'll be February and SEEING RED will be hitting the shelves. I can't wait to share this one with you! Visit

| November 2008 News from...LISA JACKSON | | |
|
| I've got a new book coming out this month. Actually it's two "classic Lisa Jackson novels" in one. MISSING is comprised of ZACHARY'S LAW and INNOCENT BY ASSOCIATION, and, you guessed it, the books deal with a missing person and/or legal issues set around a steamy romance. So check it out! I'm also excited that WICKED GAME, the novel I wrote with my sister, Nancy Bush, will be available just after the first of the year, so keep your eyes peeled. You can find out more about each of these titles on my website.
Right now, personally, I'm getting ready for the holidays. I started shopping in the summer, bought one item and have nothing more. YIKES! But it's the magic of the season that I love, so I'm not going to panic about all the things that have to be done. In fact, I might just curl up with a glass of hot cider by the fire and read another good book! Visit

| How can it already be November? Boy, this year is just flying by for me. I'm still hard at work on GLOVES OFF, the third YA novel in my DEBS series for Random House, and it's going great. I love the imagery of GLOVES OFF, as two of the main characters in the books, vivacious Laura and nasty Jo Lynn, have a lot of scores to settle between them. THE DEBS series centers on four high school seniors in Houston, Texas, as they claw their way through their debutante season. It's a little like a PG-13 Gossip Girl with a Texas drawl. I'm so excited that readers of my Debutante Dropout Mystery series are emailing to say how much they like THE DEBS and are looking forward to LOVE, LIES, AND TEXAS DIPS (which you can preorder online already, and it's not even out until June 9, 2009...wowza!). You don't have to be a young adult to get in on the fun! When I write, I'm telling the juiciest stories possible, and I always hope they appeal to readers of every age. So treat yourself to a copy of THE DEBS for the holidays! Or buy one for a book-lover you know, whether young, old, or somewhere in between (like me!). Enjoy the cooler weather and the warmth of family and friends all through the holidays.
Best wishes, Susan Visit

| With fire season upon us in California this is a good time to give a little publicity to THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT. This collection of short stories from Echelon Press has something for everyone--romance, mystery, adventure--all wrapped around a fire theme. Proceeds benefit the Fire Safe Council of San Diego.
My story, MELTDOWN, was inspired by the couple who spent the night in their pool as fire raged around them.
